This study aims to examine the effect of artificial intelligence (AI) anxiety on life satisfaction among academics. The research was conducted with a total of 323 academics from four universities in the Mediterranean region of Turkey: Süleyman Demirel University, Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Akdeniz University, and Mersin University. Among the participants, 94 were female and 229 were male. Data collection tools included the Artificial Intelligence Anxiety Scale, the Life Satisfaction Scale, and a personal information form. The collected data were tested for variance and homogeneity, and statistical analyses were conducted using independent samples t-test for pairwise comparisons, one-way ANOVA for multiple comparisons, Tukey HSD test to identify the source of differences, and simple linear regression analysis to determine the effect size. A significance level of p < 0.05 was used in all statistical analyses and interpretations. The results indicated that there were no significant differences in AI anxiety and life satisfaction levels based on gender and academic tenure. However, significant differences were observed in AI anxiety levels based on academic rank. Additionally, AI anxiety was found to have a significant negative impact on life satisfaction. This study suggests that addressing AI-related anxieties in academic environments may have positive effects on academics' life satisfaction and overall well-being.
