Journal of Sport & Movement Sciences (JSMS) was established in 2020 under the title Ulusal Kinesiyoloji Dergisi (ISSN: 2757-6566) as a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to contributing to scientific research in the fields of sports sciences and kinesiology.

From 2020 to 2025, the journal continued its publication activities under the title Ulusal Kinesiyoloji Dergisi. In 2026, the journal was renamed Journal of Sport & Movement Sciences (ISSN: 3108-7353) to strengthen its international academic presence, enhance its scientific visibility, and establish a broader scholarly platform encompassing various disciplines within sports and movement sciences.

This title change does not represent the termination of the journal's publication activities or the establishment of a new journal. Rather, it reflects the continuation of its existing scholarly publishing activities under a new title. All issues published under the former title remain an integral part of the journal's publication history and scientific archive.

Since 2026, Journal of Sport & Movement Sciences has continued its publication as an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal. Maintaining continuity with its previous publication history, the journal aims to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge by publishing original research in sports and movement sciences.
