Abstract: Muscle injuries are a very significant clinical problem that negatively affects the continuity and performance of athletes in training and competitions, especially in sports that require high-intensity physical activity, and creates a financial and mental burden on teams and individuals. Such injuries are caused by multifactorial etiological elements such as overloading of the muscle-tendon unit, inadequate warm-up, neuromuscular control disorders, overloading, inadequate recovery and biomechanical imbalances. Developing preventive strategies to protect athlete health not only reduces the risk of individual injuries, but also increases training and competition efficiency, contributing to the sustainability of the athlete's career. When the precautions to be taken and the measurements to be made are applied with a holistic approach, the frequency of muscle injuries in athletes can be significantly reduced. In this context, structuring preventive interventions supported by evidence-based practices is one of the focal areas of current sports medicine and sports sciences.
